FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Q. Do you ever restock your out of stock items!?
A. Put simply, yes, we stock items weekly. However, due to high demand most items that are restocked often sell out again within minutes. This can sometimes give the impression to customers that items aren't being restocked. So the best way to know when an item is restocked is to use the 'back in-stock notification' feature available on each of the product pages.
Q. Is there a way I can pre-order an item?
A. Unfortunately, no. We don't allow pre-ordering, because there is no way we can guarantee the item will be produced in a reasonable amount of time. In stead we ask that you use the 'back in-stock notification' feature as it helps us to know which items are the most in demand.
Q. How many items do you make and how many do you make a time?
A. We currently produce over 100 separate items. Each item is generally produced in a batch of between 5-10 at a time. Sometimes more are produced if the item is popular.
Q. How limited are 'limited edition' items?
A. Limited edition products are created in batches of 10 and limited to a total production of 30. Each unit is indivually numbered. Once a limited edition item completes its production run, it is featured on our Legacy page for posterity.
Q. I heard you made action figure accessories in all sizes but why do I only see 4.5" scale available?
A. Due to the high demand for 4.5" scale accessories the decision was made to focus solely on that scale until market forces decide otherwise.
Q. What is Triple-Fiction Productions?
A. Triple-Fiction Productions was founded in 2008 by Casey J Sullivan. It was originally an independent film company; Which later evolved into a production company for hard to find prop replicas. Recently it has evolved again to include the production of action figure accessories. See our About Us page for more information.
Q. How are the items produced?
A. Props are produced in our studio by artist Casey J Sullivan, using CAD software, 3D printers and old fashioned hand-craftsmanship. NONE of the items produced are those available for free via file sharing websites. First, each of our items has be designed from scratch in CAD software. Next the newly designed object file is uploaded to our fleet of 3D printers. After being printed aka fabricated, the parts are assembled using a chemical bonding agent which melts the PLA plastic effectively welding the pieces together permanently. Then each item is sanded, primed, sanded again and eventually painted by hand; Before the final details and decals are applied to form a finished product.
Q. How is pricing determined?
A. In a perfect world one would charge a flat rate based on the number of hours it takes to print an item. However with some items taking weeks to print, it's not affordable nor realistic to charge a flat rate. Therefore profits are made by selling at a volume. The more of something we make in a batch, the lower the price and cost of production. Furthermore, in order to remain affordable our prices are capped at $400 for the most expensive items we offer.
Q. Do you do commissions?
A. No, unfortunately we are NOT FOR HIRE. Custom projects and commissions are not something we do. We do however accept suggestions for future items; Which we will make every effort to consider and produce if the item is found to be viable, profitable and within the scope of our current line of products.
